Il Grande Catai è una delle civiltà più antiche e potenti nel Mondo di Warhammer e per migliaia di anni è rimasta pressoché immutata. È governata dai figli dell’Imperatore Drago Celeste, delle potenti e antiche entità capaci di assumere forma umana, che detengono le misteriose conoscenze della magia conosciuta come Yin e Yang.
Miao Ying, il Drago della Tempesta, governa il Catai settentrionale e comanda l’esercito del Grande Bastione. Fredda e distaccata, ha governato le province settentrionali per secoli da quando le loro difese le furono affidate da suo padre, l’Imperatore Drago Celeste.
Zhao Ming, il Drago di Ferro, regna sul Catai occidentale e sulla Via del Cielo che conduce ai Monti del Lamento. Da agguerrito difensore delle frontiere, il Drago di Ferro sorveglia il confine occidentale dell’impero e tiene sotto controllo i clan del deserto, sebbene gli altri draghi mettano in dubbio il suo buonsenso.
Stile di gioco della razza
Se il Catai potesse essere descritto con una sola parola, questa sarebbe “armonia”. I Draghi del Catai, e di conseguenza i loro eserciti, sono creature dedite all’ordine, che ricercano l’equilibrio in ogni cosa, inclusa la guerra.
Sebbene l’esercito dell’Imperatore Drago sia per natura difensivo e specializzato nel mantenere la posizione per sfinire il nemico con una difesa e una potenza di fuoco inesorabili, l’elemento imprescindibile del suo sforzo bellico è quello di assicurarsi di combattere come un’entità unica ed efficiente. Quanto più a lungo l’esercito riuscirà a mantenere l’armonia sul campo di battaglia, tanto migliori saranno i bonus che potrà sbloccare.
Gruppi dell’esercito
In quanto una delle nazioni più sofisticate dal punto di vista tecnologico nel Vecchio Mondo, la macchina da guerra del Catai può far appello a una miriade di unità tra le più spietate e letali che esistano. Il nucleo dell’esercito ruota attorno a truppe esperte come gli incrollabili Guerrieri di Giada e le unità d’élite della Guardia del Drago Celeste, mentre un devastante supporto può essere fornito dalle titaniche Sentinelle di Terracotta, dalle magistrali unità di Bussola da Guerra Wu-Xing e dagli eterei Grandi Cavalcalongma di Giada.
