Zephyr Cove, NV. – January 31st, 2022 – After a successful debut in late 2021, 1047 Games and Logitech Esports Services have announced details for the 2022 Splitgate Pro Series, kicking off February 5th. The 2022 program, which sees the overall prize pool increased to a half a million USD for the year, adds a new Challengers Series aimed at the most dedicated and skilled players in the community, giving them a way to portal their way to pro. With more than $100,000 in cash and prizes per season up for grabs, the Splitgate Pro Series has upped the stakes significantly from its inaugural esports tournament series in 2021.
The 2022 Splitgate Pro Series kicks off February 5th & 6th with a double-header weekend of match days to start the Winter Season, broadcasted live on Twitch. The Winter Season is made up of three components: the Pro Series Regular Season, the Challenger Series Ladder and the Season Finals Events. Pro Series Regular Seasons will take place over the course of 1-2 months, with seven total match days comprising a Round Robin stage that will determine the participants and seeds for the quarterly Season Finals and Relegation tournaments. Each Pro Series Match Day will consist of four matches, with each team playing one match per day; all matches are broadcasted live on Twitch.tv/Splitgate. The newly introduced Splitgate Challengers Series is a collection of events comprising the official path towards becoming a professional Splitgate player. The Winter Season of the Challengers Series features Open Ladder Play on PlayBeyond.com, and is open to all Splitgate competitors not currently participating in the Pro Series Regular Season. The top players from the Challengers Series have a chance to compete in a playoff tournament for a $5,000 prize pool, as well as participate in Relegation for the chance to steal a Pro team spot and join the next season of the Pro Series.
