July 24th, 2024 – Com2uS has announced an unprecedented collaboration for Summoners War: Sky Arena to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Com2uS revealed a teaser video announcing a collaboration between Summoners War and the popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen, which will kick off on July 31st.
Jujutsu Kaisen (written by Gege Akutami), a popular manga series in Weekly Shōnen Jump (published by Shueisha), has surpassed 90 million copies sold, including digital editions. The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and its first animated movie, “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” became a megahit and grossed 26.5 billion yen globally. The second season, “Hidden Inventory · Premature Death / Shibuya Incident,” aired from July to December 2023, creating a global sensation. The sequel, “Culling Game Arc,” is also in production with high hopes from its international audience.
Summoners War, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will host its second major collaboration with overseas blockbuster content, offering users diverse entertainment. This collaboration, the first with an anime, heightens anticipation for the in-game content visuals.
The teaser video, released on the official Summoners War YouTube channel, features key characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, such as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo, fighting against the Ancient Giant of the Abyss.
In anticipation of the collaboration, a pre-release event will run until July 30th (KST). Users can participate by tagging friends and leaving comments on the collaboration announcement or event posts on the official social media of Summoners War, then filling out a Google Form. All participants will receive rewards like Mystical Scrolls, and 100 lucky winners will receive Attribute Scrolls.
Summoners War has achieved cumulative revenue of 3 billion USD worldwide and is popular in both Asian and Western markets. To mark its 10th anniversary, the game will feature a year-long series of major IP collaborations and diverse online and offline promotions.
