Com2uS announced that their new game title, BTS Cooking On: TinyTAN Restaurant, ranked no. 1 on Japan’s App Store overall game chart within one day of release, and also ranked in the Top 5 in 15 regions.
BTS Cooking On, which was released globally on August 7, debuted at the top of the App Store’s game rankings in Japan on August 8 and ranked in the Top 5 in Thailand, Singapore, and Mexico.
The game has also performed exceptionally well across different genres. It topped the simulation genre rankings in 12 regions, including Japan, Singapore, and Thailand, and received passionate support from South American users in Mexico, Chile, and Peru, placing in the Top 10 in 53 regions. In the casual genre, it reached no. 1 in 12 regions and ranked in the Top 10 in 35 regions, exhibiting tremendous success across North America, Asia, and Europe.
The secret to this popularity rests in Grampus‘ development capabilities, a cooking game developer that earned 33 million combined global downloads with “Cooking Adventure” and “My Little Chef”, as well as the gameplay of BTS Cooking On, which uses the TinyTAN IP of the BTS characters. In fact, many fans are praising the immaculate level design of BTS Cooking On, which is basic at first but becomes more complex as you progress, as well as the different TinyTAN-related collectible elements.
Furthermore, the inclusion of regional representative dishes such as Korean bibimbap, tteokbokki, and samgyeopsal, as well as New York steak, hamburger, and Indonesia’s nasi goreng, piqued the curiosity of fans all around the world. The section where the scenery of each city is newly integrated with TinyTAN’s sensibility also gained passing marks.
BTS Cooking On, which was successful in its early phases, is a well-made cooking simulation and a global casual game where you can meet cute TinyTAN characters, and it intends to maintain its popularity by constantly providing updates and holding various events. The main brand page and social media channels contain detailed information about the game.
Following the successful launch, a new update arrived in game: “The World Chefs Challenge“ which consists of competitive stages with various dishes, and is cooking competition-themed content that is different from the city stages where users run restaurants. It has fewer stages than in normal restaurants, but users must learn the cooking procedure quickly and impress three judges to clear. This provides users with a new method of play as well as a more fascinating and diverse experience.
This World Chefs Challenge is centered on Curanto, a typical Chilean dish you make by combining various shellfish, chicken, ham, and potatoes. Users can also prepare drinks and sweets to accompany it. The World Chefs Challenge is available for three weeks, until Sep. 3rd, and users can earn rewards such as Gems and various booster items by clearing the stages. Furthermore, an exclusive profile image is available upon clearing the final stage.
There are also several events that are live. First, users can earn an ER Rarity Photocard, Unlimited Faster Cooking, Double Income, and Instant Serving Boosters when they access the game daily until the 20th. Also, an additional Photocard is available when users clear all the stages in TinyTAN Festival until Sep. 9th. The Friend Invite Event is also live until Sep. 29th, during which users can invite friends to the game and get various rewards, such as TinyTAN Time (a game item) and a special profile image.
