EVE ONLINE NOW AVAILABLE IN FRENCH
– Legendary Sci-Fi MMO Adds Full French Language Support. Exclusive Exhibition and French Player Gathering in Paris this Thursday –
CCP Games a leading independent developer of massively multiplayer games, today announced that EVE Online now offers French as a fully supported language alongside English, Russian, German, Japanese and Chinese (simplified). To mark the launch, CCP is hosting the first ever official French Player Gathering in Paris this Thursday 2 October, alongside a unique exhibition of art that includes the video installation previously hosted at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
French-speaking players can now immerse themselves in the EVE Universe in their own native language, and communicate, collaborate, and battle with hundreds of thousands of players around the world in a single, undivided Sci-Fi universe. After 11 years of constant evolution and community growth, there has never been a better time for French newcomers to launch themselves into EVE Online.
“We’re very happy to bring French speaking gamers the unique sandbox gameplay of EVE Online in their native language,” said Andie Nordgren, Executive Producer of EVE Online. “There is already a great French community in EVE and I’m very interested to see what they can do with some reinforcements!”
“Speaking as a Frenchman, I’m of course delighted that our players can now play EVE in my mother tongue,” said Guilhem Marin, Senior Game Designer on EVE Online. “I hope we see many more French players joining us and building powerful alliances over the months and years ahead.”
“I’m very excited about meeting so many of my fellow French players at the Player Gathering,” said Benjamin Bohn, Art & Graphics Development Manager for EVE Online. “Curating the art for the exhibition has been a great experience, and I’m really pleased to be showing the MoMA exhibit outside of New York for the first time.”
France’s debut official EVE Player Gathering will take place on Thursday 2 October at the Galerie Joseph – Musee Picasso in the Marais district of Paris. The event will feature an exclusive exhibition of art from EVE Online, including the video installation from New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for the first time outside of North America. The event was fully subscribed within 24 hours of the French community announcement. Fans unable to attend are invited to look out for coverage of the event online and via community channels.
