QUEBEC CITY (Oct. 8, 2024) – The playable debut of Bonaparte: A Mechanized Revolution has arrived today with its new demo as part of Steam Next Fest. From boutique development house Studio Imugi, established by the co-founders of Kitfox Games and Sabotage, players will rewrite history in this mech-based reimagining of the French Revolution. Defend or overthrow the collapsing monarchy in this ideology driven, turn-based strategy & tactics game (Demo available here).
This demo features just a slice of what’s to come when the game fully releases in 2025. Until then, players can get familiar with the strategic turn-based combat while building political coalitions by passing legislation in the National Convention.

Players will have the choice to serve the role of Céline or César Bonaparte, a young military officer who leads a revolutionary movement in a monarchy on the verge of collapse. Grow the movement from a ragtag group of radicals to a powerful government run by the people, or rebuild the throne’s legitimacy across the nation.
By perfecting your ideological strategy, you can navigate the turbulent landscape and reshape France’s future to match your vision. At your side along this journey are iconic historical figures and factions true to the time period. Each character is brought to life through Studio Imugi’s imaginative take on the French Revolution in an alternate history with authenticity, creating political theater in which tensions and conflicts never play out the same way.
On the battlefield, engage in epic, turn-based battles where gunpowder meets the might of heat-powered mechs, known as Colossi, where valor and cunning are held in higher regard than brute strength. Bonaparte’s presentation of alternate history is accentuated by its unique approach to the strategy genre: mirroring the consequences of political action, players can see policy play out on the battlefield.
