All games in the SEGA Forever collection are available to download for free from the App Store for iPhone and iPad or Google Play Store for Android devices. Players who want to experience the games without ads can remove them for a one-time in-app purchase priced at €2.29.
Gunstar Heroes was developed by Treasure, the Japanese studio known for frantic action games and innovative gameplay systems, and first published by SEGA for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive. The game has two playable characters, ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ – two members of the Gunstar family – who are on a mission to stop the Empire, an evil organization that has set out to destroy civilization. At the time of release, Gunstar Heroes met widespread approval from critics and fans alike and has been listed by multiple publications as one of the best video games of all time. Like other games in the SEGA Forever collection, Gunstar Heroes offers added features like leaderboards, cloud saves, controller support, and cross-platform local multiplayer capabilities.
