The Arcade Crew has released a new video taking fans behind the scenes for the upcoming run-and-gun sidescroller retro homage Blazing Chrome from Brazilian developer JoyMasher today.
The developer diary showcases Danilo Dias and Thais Weller discussing the inspirations behind their Metal-Slug-meets-Contra homage, and how the couple-turned-developer duo have maintained life and work balance as independent games developers. Talking through design inspirations from Terminator, Mad Max and more, Dias also reveals retro games that have contributed to the design of Blazing Chrome, including retro cult hits like Gun Force 2.
Blazing Chrome is an all-new side-scrolling action game due out in early 2019 where militant AI-fueled computers rule the Earth and humans lack any and all prestige, power or choice in the world. Choose to play as Mavra, a super badass human resistance soldier, or Doyle, the equally groovy and deadly insurgent robot and lead the charge to overthrow your oppressors.
