Speedball 2 HD feiert auf dem PC ein krachendes Comeback!
Speedball 2 HD wird vom “Indie Developer of the Year” Vivid Games entwickelt und entworfen und von Jon Hare und Mike Montgomery produziert. Das Spiel wird am 5. Dezember 2013 via Steam, GOG und Get Games erscheinen und kostet 7,99 Euro. Außerdem dürfen sich Vorbesteller bei Steam und Get Games über einen Nachlass von 20% freuen.
IIn den 90er-Jahren waren Sensible Software und The Bitmap Brothers die führenden Adressen in der Independent-Szene und haben einige Spiele veröffentlich, die selbst heute noch Relevanz besitzen. Sensible World of Soccer, The Chaos Engine, Magic Pockets oder Cannon Fodder sind dabei nur einige der Spieleperlen, die seinerzeit von Jon Hare und Mike Montgomery erschaffen wurden.
“Über die Jahre haben uns immer wieder Indie-Entwickler gesagt, wie viel ihnen diese Spiele bedeuten – und dass wir sie doch zurückbringen sollten. Einige Entwickler haben sogar darum gebeten, bei diesen Projekten mitarbeiten zu dürfen. Speedball 2 HD ist jetzt ein gutes Beispiel für die Synergien zwischen alten Klassikern und neuen digitalen Formaten – und für die Zusammenarbeit erfahrener alter Kerl mit talentierten jungen Nachwuchskräften”, so Jon Hare.
“Speedball 2 HD is ein originalgetreues Remake des futuristischen Cybersport-Spiels. Es strahlt auch heute noch die gleiche Faszination aus und ist weiterhin perfekt spielbar – und wir haben zusätzlich noch einige neue Updates eingebaut, die eine Verbindung mit der jeweiligen Lieblingsplattform der Spieler zulässt”, so Mike Montgomery.
Mit 330 unterschiedlichen Spielern, neuen Formationen und sechs neuen Spielstätten ist Speedball 2 HD genauso hart und ungefiltert wie das Original.
