On the heels of Summoners War climbing back to the top of the App Store charts across key global markets, Com2us today announced its flagship RPG has reached 80 million downloads worldwide.
To commemorate this milestone, players will be able to earn points and use them to acquire a range of rewards such as Mystical Scrolls, Crystals and Mana Stones from now until July 22nd.
In North America, Summoners War returned to the top 5, ascending to the 5th spot in the top grossing chart in USA and 2nd in Canada while rising to the top spot in Germany, France, Netherlands, and Singapore.
The popular turn-based RPG has also seen significant uplift in its top grossing chart rankings across additional markets in Europe as well as Latin America and Oceania, further solidifying its position as one of the most popular mobile games worldwide. Summoners War is currently ranked at number 7, 10, 5, and 6 in Italy, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, respectively.
Since launching in 2014, Summoners War has continued to grow in popularity worldwide, earning approximately $890 million in lifetime revenue.
Last month, Com2us partnered with Amazon to hold its first-ever global Summoners War tournament at the inaugural Mobile Masters Invitational 2017 in New Jersey. The live broadcast of the Summoners War tournament on Twitch was ranked in the top 5 most viewed on the day of the event, recording over 35,000 concurrent views. Since then, the rebroadcast has notched a further 19,000 views.
Com2us will continue to hold high its investment of expanding the Summoners War IP with the launch of a MMORPG spin-off in 2018 supplemented by a range of new verticals from merchandising to Film/TV entertainment.
