SUPER GAME JAM EPISODE 1 NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM
– Indie Game Episodic Documentary Examines 10 Developers in 5 Short Films Exploring the Development of 5 Small Games –
Moviephiles Devolver Digital and filmmakers Bram Ruiter and Daniel Oliveira Carneiro announced today that the premiere episode of the incredible documentary series Super Game Jam is now available on Steam. Super Game Jam aims to examine the entirety of the creative process from the developer’s technical skills to the friendships that form through a game jam event on a personal and intimate level. Filmed in five cities over six months, Super Game Jam pairs two indie developers together for 48 hours and challenges them to create a game based on a theme suggested by their peers. The games will come bundled as playable prototype downloads with the purchase of the series (€14.99 for all five episodes and games: http://store.steampowered.com/app/288290).
The debut episode features two developers that are longtime friends but have never had the opportunity to work together: JW Nijman (Ridiculous Fishing, LUFTRAUSERS) and Richard Boeser (Ibb and Obb) and chronicles the pair as they explore the concept of “breaking up” and the various ways the concept can be represented in game design. The engaging collaboration of the two developers results in an exceptionally unique racing game based on the dynamic between a driver and a navigator, aptly titled Navigator, now playable via the Super Game Jam application.
