Paris, August 15, 2024 – Publisher The Arcade Crew (The Last Spell, Infernax) and developer Assoupi today revealed MainFrames, a smart and fast-paced platformer with light puzzle elements and a byte of challenge set in the world of a computer operating system. MainFrames was announced as part of the Wholesome Games Steam Celebration and will boot on PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch devices early 2025.
MainFrames joins Floppy, a program whose pondering of their unknown origins has made for an existential crisis akin in severity to arriving at the great blue screen above. Determined to unlock their true function, Floppy sets out on a quest of self identity that’s overclocked with charm.
Lead Floppy’s adventure through a computer network which plays out entirely within the windows and desktop of a PC monitor. Rearrange program windows to create a path forward as Floppy leaps between frames, all while vibing to the calming rhythm of chill beats. Befriend the colorful characters running MainFrames’ network, whose chipper humor will surely upload some laughter into your day. Each area within MainFrames’ digitized world contains its own artistic DNA, boasting distinct styles, mechanics and secrets to discover. Although Floppy’s journey offers a challenge, it’s rewarding and easily approachable even without a standing mastery of platforming games. MainFrames’ mischievous level design and welcoming world offers a fair platforming experience that won’t leave you feeling defragmented.
