In a brand new update, the legendary Gaul Vercingetorix has been added to the roster of iconic commanders in Total War: ARENA.
Vercingetorix The Defiant was a Gallic chieftain who defied the might of Rome under Julius Caesar fighting for his people. His name means “Victor of a Hundred Battles”.
Tall and handsome, he was a charismatic leader and public speaker who rallied people to his cause through the power of his words as well as actions, leading his people against the fearsome might of Caesar and the Roman Empire. The new commander has now arrived, setting the battlefield ablaze with devastating and unorthodox scorched earth tactics; fight relentlessly, deny enemy manoeuvres, and defy death itself with four new barbaric orders! Party-based matchmaking is now limited to parties where the units are all within two tiers of each other.
Javelins can now use Barrage.
Caltrops, stakes and other deployables cannot be placed if a unit has recently been attacked in melee, but can be placed if struck by missiles.
Currently in Closed Beta, Total War: ARENA is a free-to-play, team-based strategy game, putting players in the middle of epic-scale battles.
