Roubaix, France – February 2nd, 2023 – Ankama, the developer and publisher of the multi-million dollar transmedia franchise Wakfu (TV series, comic books and video games), is pleased to announce that One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend’s already incredibly rich universe deepens once again thanks to a new update. After successfully launching in Early Access on PC, via Steam and the ANKAMA Launcher last October, the title is starting a new “Expedition Mode” and is fully integrating the Spanish language from today.
The Early Access launch trailer is still viewable here:
By defeating the Level 2 Boss in the Classic mode, players will unlock a new extreme game system entitled the “Expedition Mode”. In this mode, they will have to battle for their life by progressing through a 4-level procedurally generated map, solely armed with a deck of 7 randomly drawn cards from their own collection. The escalating difficulty and increasingly powerful enemies will put players’ cards to the test, which could be fatal. Kamas and experience will be earned throughout the journey. However, if players die, cards and tokens will be lost and the adventure will have to be restarted from scratch.
Before embarking on this life-threatening journey, cards must be purchased in the classic mode in order to be available for playing in the “Expedition Mode”. If not, the card will be offered but unable to be selected, which could cost players their (virtual) lives!
Two exclusive new environments will also be introduced – the mountains and the crypts – to infuse a new diversity of colour and challenge into the adventure.
Also, the Spanish community can now experience the adventure of Oropo, the mysterious Eliotrope (portal creator), in their native language.
One More Gate key game features:
- Discover the “World of Twelve” universe and the adventures of Oropo
Pass through the portal and explore vibrant procedurally generated levels. Choose the smartest path, fight fantastic creatures, and take part in events that will make you stronger… or not.
- Grow stronger and master the powers of Wakfu
The natural energy of Wakfu is unique to the World of Twelve. You must learn to use the variations in its flow to your advantage if you want to defeat the most fearsome creatures.
- Meet eccentric characters and complete quests
From a dojo master to a body-building granny, the One More Gate universe is full of unique characters who you will meet and learn to love as they will send you on increasingly tricky missions in exchange for fabulous loot.
- Collect cards and create destructive combos
Crush monsters, open chests, spend kamas to buy a peddler’s wares… There are many ways to expand your deck with the help of the 40 cards available in the game. Players can expect over 100 + cards at launch.
- Each run is unique
There are countless secrets waiting for you to discover: gems with unexpected powers, divine blessings and dangerous curses.
One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend is still available in Early Access on Steam and via the ANKAMA launcher. The Nintendo Switch version should be released sometime this year.
